Arizona disability insurance pays you an income if you are too hurt or sick to work and you lose income as a result.

Which is likely to happen first - dying prematurely or becoming disabled?

Believe it or not, the odds are better that you will need Arizona disability insurance versus dying prematurely.

  • • At age 37 your odds of being disabled versus dying is 3.3 to 1
  • • At age 42 the odds are 3.5 to 1
  • • At age 37 they are 2.8 to 1
  • • At age 52 it is 2.2 to 1

A wager earning making $50,000 per year will earn $1 Million in 20 years. Imagine being disabled and missing out on all those prime earning years. How can you recoup those lost years of earning an income if you are too sick or hurt to work.

If you become too sick or injured to work imagine how much money you can lose. Some larger corporations offer Arizona disability insurance on short and long term disability. Usually it is the employee option whether to carry and pay for this optional coverage.

Most people believe that life insurance is very crucial – even though the odds are less of premature death occurring versus disability. Yet, the vast majority of Americans do not carry life insurance but not Arizona disability insurance.

What type of job do you have? If you work at a desk job you will likely pay far less for disability insurance than someone who is in the roofing industry.

Do you have health issues? Someone with health issues may pay a lot more or even be declined, versus someone who is in perfect health.

Arizona disability Insurance considers several factors: occupation, health, benefit period (how long you receive a disability check), elimination period (how long you are disabled before the policy begins paying you), and policy provisions (does it pay for total disability or partial).

Long Term Disability or Short Term Disability? There generally are two policies – short term and long term. The short term policy pays typically for up to 6 months. The long term policy can kick in after 30 days, 60 days or even 90 days but pay for 5 years or even until you are age 65.

Do you need disability insurance? Which job would you rather have:

Job 1: Pays $100,000 per year

Job 2: Pays $98,000 per year but pays $60,000 if you are sick or hurt and cannot work
